YAKHA Residence is a student housing residence for Walter Sisulu University students (WSU accredited) situated less than 5 km from the WSU IBIKA campus. It has a capacity of 12 students (6 bedrooms and two students per room) and is approximately 7-15 minutes away from campus. The residence includes a kitchen with 2x four-burner electric and 2x four-burner gas stoves, cupboard space for each student with a personalized key for each student, a fridge, deep freezer, a large microwave, kettle, 2x kitchen sinks, and extra counter space. The TV room encompasses a plasma TV with DSTV access and four large couches. The residence is secured through a security guard, CCTV cameras, and a burglar installation. The residence has a Wi-Fi connection, backup water systems (water tanks connected to the plumbing in the house with a water pump), and backup electricity systems (generator) to ensure adequate access to water and electricity even in times of load-shedding and water-shedding. The bathroom consists of three large showers, three toilets, 2x large mirrors, and a sink. It has a laundry room with a large washing machine, an iron, and an ironing board with a significant number of 20L buckets for students to utilize as they need. The residence has a study room with electric plugs and a whiteboard for students to utilize while studying. Each room consists of 2x single beds, 2x wardrobes,2x study desks with a chair, a 2x study lamp, 2x basins, 2xbins, and 2x washing baskets. There is a First Aid kit available in case of injuries, two fire extinguishers and smoke detectors inside the house
