Kwanza Residence is located across the N2 road, adjacent to Walter Sisulu University (WSU) in Butterworth, Eastern Cape. It is situated approximately 2km away from the WSU Butterworth campus’s main entrance. Kwanza Residence provides WSU students with an immaculate, quality, hygienic, affordable and secured accommodation close to the campus. STRUCTURE: Kwanza Residence has 15 double rooms. Each room is fully tiled (with ceramic tiles), electrified with plugs and lights, ceilinged, has 2 beds in each room separated with a wall for enhanced privacy, has 2 study desks, 2 towel rail, 2 pin boards, bookshelves, 2 built-in wardrobes, 2 mirrors, 2 study desk lamps, 2 chairs, 2 bin and a panel heater. Additionally, the residence has a security room, a TV room with DSTV, a fully furnished kitchen, a fully furnished study room, a back-up kitchen, a laundry room and a storeroom. ABLUTION FACILITIES: The ablution facilities consist of 4 x showers, 4 x flushed toilets with lockable doors and 5 x hand wash sinks with wall mirrors. SAFETY AND SECURITY The whole yard is fully fenced; access is controlled by a qualified security officer (with PSIRA C-grade) and caretaker who are present day and night. Windows are fitted with professionally installed burglar proofs. Last, CCTV cameras are installed inside and outside the structure. WATER, SANITATION and Power supply: there is consistent water supply and back-up power (generator) TRANSPORT: transport is provided for students from the residence to the WSU and back.
